Everyone loves to have their cute, furry little friend around them; however, you might be a little bit frustrated at the moment based on the fact that your puppy training venture is not going as planned and your puppy keeps making a mess around the house. I mean, your dog just can’t seem to get it right, or maybe it is just that you haven’t been doing it the right way. While every puppy is different and will require different attention and techniques to be properly trained, there are certain puppy training tips that you can follow to train any and every dog. By reading this article you will learn about some puppy training techniques that will train your dog in as little time as possible and in the end lead to a very comfortable relationship between you and your puppy.
It is common nature that all puppies eat and get rid of waste and there is nothing that you can do about it, except properly train them on how to get rid of this waste. Remember that the more your puppy grows the more they eat, the more energy they burn, and of course, the more they will need to go. However, based on the fact that puppies have yet to develop proper bladder control, they cannot hold it like older dogs and are therefore, inclined to make a mess in your house and anywhere they are. If you are to successfully train your pup, you will need to be diligent and dedicated and be there to supervise them as much as possible so that when you see that they want to go, you are able to direct them to where they need to do it.
When training your puppy, keep in mind that they never become properly trained until they are about 6 months old and may take a longer time for some breed of dogs. With this notion in mind, you know that there are expected to be mistakes; however, don’t stress about these mistakes because they will get it eventually. Just stay focused and be confident in what you are doing.
House training rules:
- Always reward your puppy when they go in the right place and ensure that the treat is special
- Ensure that your puppy gets frequent access to their toilet area to prevent them from soiling the house
- Never punish your puppy when they make a mistake in the house because they are like children and scolding them will only make things worse.
- Ensure that there feeding schedule is timely and never go against it.
- Keep track of the last time that your puppy went to the bathroom
When training your puppy remember that they need to go to the bathroom every 30-45 minutes; however, this can be changed based on how often they eat and drink.
While it takes some time to train your puppy, it can be done and all it takes is some time and dedication.
